Overview

The UIS Self-Service Portal is the central place to find information and request help for services supported by University Information Services (UIS).

This article explains how to:

The portal uses TeamDynamix (TDX), UIS's IT service management platform.

Accessing the UIS Self-Service Portal

  1. Navigate to the Client Portal home page.
  2. Select Sign In in the upper-right corner.
  3. Sign in with your CU credentials, if prompted.
  4. Select the University Information Services tile.

Signing in gives you access to content and services available to your CU role. It also allows the portal to identify you when you submit or review a ticket.

Using the UIS Landing Page

After selecting University Information Services, you will arrive at the UIS-specific landing page. This page provides quick access to common support actions, searches, instructions, resources, and other CU help desks.

Request a Service

Select Request a Service to browse the UIS Service Catalog. The catalog organizes the services UIS supports. Each service page explains which offerings are available, who can use them, and how to request help or access.

View My Requests

Select View My Requests to review your open tickets, add information, upload attachments, or withdraw a request.

The Ticket Requests page can also be used to search for completed, cancelled, and department tickets. For complete instructions, see Submitting, Viewing, and Updating Tickets in the UIS Self-Service Portal.

Report an Issue

Select Report an Issue when a UIS-supported application, system, or service is unavailable or not working as expected. This option opens a general incident form so you can quickly report the problem.

Search the Portal

Use Search Entire Site on the UIS landing page to search broadly across services, service offerings, Knowledge Base articles, tags, and other available portal content.

The Search the client portal field in the upper-right corner remains available as you move through the portal. Use its dropdown menu to search all available content or narrow your search to the Knowledge Base or Service Catalog.

For detailed guidance, see Searching the UIS Service Catalog and Knowledge Base.

Quick How-to Answers

Quick How-to Answers provide direct access to frequently used instructions and support information, such as password help, Duo enrollment, VPN access, browser troubleshooting, cybersecurity reporting, file sharing, Tech Tips, and UIS how-to guides.

Available links may be updated as customer needs change.

Resources

The Resources section provides links to commonly used UIS information and services, including system access, planned maintenance, UIS projects, RAVE alerts, CU System AI resources, and Customer Success Managers.

Other Help Desks

Not every CU service is supported by UIS. The Other Help Desks section provides direct links to Employee Services, the Office of the Controller, the Procurement Service Center, and campus IT help desks.

Use these links when your question or request is supported by another CU office or campus.

Should I Search or Submit a Ticket?

Start with a search when you want instructions, general information, or a quick answer. Submit a ticket when:

  • Something is not working as expected
  • You need access, setup, or another service from UIS
  • You cannot find what you need or are unsure which service to choose

If you are unsure which service to choose, select the closest match and provide a clear description. UIS can redirect the ticket if another support team is better suited to help.

The UIS Knowledge Base is still growing. While the available articles may not yet cover every UIS service or question, UIS teams are continuing to add new content and update existing information.

Other Ways to Contact UIS

You can also contact the UIS Service Desk:

Emailing the UIS Service Desk creates a TeamDynamix ticket. Using the UIS Self-Service Portal is recommended when a request form is available because the form collects details that help route and fulfill your request.
